Near the original site of the Waterloo Gasoline Traction Engine Company which Deere & Company purchased in 1918. During this brief riding tour (max 10 riding visitors), you'll see our Heat Treat operations, along with Gears, Axles, and Transmission manufacturing..

Service Parts Operation

Walking tour of Service Parts Manufacturing for Hitch Assembly and 16 Speed Power Shift Transmissions. We run 3,000 different part numbers and 900 gear part numbers. If you repair older tractors, this is probably where the parts are made.

Other Information
Children: Children must be at least 13 years of age to tour any of the John Deere factories. Children may be required to show proof of age (school ID).

Guests under age 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and will be permitted only in the following areas:
Lobby entrances
The Deere Crossing gift shop
And all "Safe Zones" which include hallways, lobbies, meeting rooms, auditoriums, rest rooms, and cafeterias that do not pass through a manufacturing or shop area.

Attire: We suggest comfortable walking shoes. Sorry, open-toe shoes are not allowed.

Cameras: Still cameras are permitted on all tours except at the Foundry or the Engine Works. Sorry, video cameras are not allowed.

Safety: The Waterloo Works is adamant about safety - its goal is zero injuries. This goal encompasses anyone, employees and visitors, who step foot onto Waterloo Works property.
